Friendship Baptist Church | Rebrand Initiative

created at Abstract Union

For Friendship Baptist Church’s rebrand, I had the opportunity to design and co-creative direct a thoughtful, cohesive visual identity that reflects the church’s welcoming and timeless character. The project drew inspiration from the church's architectural details, with the logo echoing shapes reminiscent of stained glass, reimagined in a sleek, historical-meets-contemporary seal format. This approach balances tradition with a fresh, forward-thinking aesthetic.

The carefully curated color palette was chosen to harmonize with the interior of the church, blending warmth and vibrancy with a polished, inviting feel. The shapes and colors offer versatility: they can be used subtly for understated applications or more prominently to create dynamic, playful materials like invitations. My role focused on typographic treatment and layout design, ensuring text was styled appropriately for every use, whether formal stationery or more lively pieces. Deliverables included letterheads, envelopes, business cards, invitations, and a brochure all exuding a refined yet approachable energy.

This branding effort beautifully bridges the past and the present, creating a versatile identity that speaks to the church’s community and values.
